The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) worked with their private sector partners and the Office of Cybersecurity and Communications to develop a manufacturing specific Cybersecurity Framework Implementation Guide which provides organization and structure to today’s multiple approaches to cybersecurity.

This Framework Implementation Guidance aims to simplify the process for all organizations in the manufacturing sector—regardless of their size, cybersecurity risk, or current level of cybersecurity sophistication—to apply the principles and best practices of risk management.

Ultimately, the Framework Implementation Guidance is focused on helping individual organizations reduce and better manage their cybersecurity risks, contributing to a more secure and resilient sector overall.

Manufacturing organizations can use the Framework Implementation Guidance to determine how best to provides a repeatable process to
identify and prioritize cybersecurity improvements and choose investments that maximize the impact of each dollar spent.
